Loaves & Fishes

contact:  Mark Simone

On the last Sunday of each month volunteers from Federated prepare and serve a hot meal at St. Paul's for folks from the church and neighborhood who have limited resources.  Mark Simone coordinates this program and some of our youth are regulars at the meal.  Various groups from the Church also provide the food and effort -- the Mission & outreach Board, Elderlife, circles from the Women's Fellowship, etc.  Funds to purchase food are collected in a Loaves & Fishes designated account, and volunteers are always welcome.  One unique feature of this program is that the workers always sit down and eat with the recipients. Volunteering:

  • Help prepare food at Federated and/or Serve food on Sunday at St.Paul's

F.O.S.P. (Friends of St. Paul's) HORSE SHOW
MetroPark Polo Field - May 19, 2003

Pictures from 2002 Show

For over 25 years this horse show, organized and run by a committee of Federated and St. Paul's members, has raised money to help support St. Paul's.  In recent years the scope of the show has expanded to include a Country Fair and Art Market.  There are numerous opportunities for volunteer assistance and financial donations without which this significant undertaking would not be possible.

Help St. Paul’s people
celebrate Christmas

What are you doing for others, and yourself as well, during the holidays? What would you like to do? What are you able to do? Pray about it. And if God leads you to reach out to others less fortunate than yourself, our sister church, St. Paul’s Community Church might be the place for you to start.

Giving food is always good and the Christmas Thrift Shop is opening soon.

We can all help...in large ways and small. Each year, St. Paul’s Church holds a Christmas Thrift Shop Sale. This year the Sale will be on Wednesday and Thursday, December 13, 14, and Saturday December 16. Brand new items donated by the generous folks from Federated are very affordably priced so that low income and homeless people can experience the joy of giving and still have the dignity of purchasing gifts.

Beginning on Sunday, November 26, your donated items can be placed under the Christmas tree in the Church Lobby.

Here are some shopping tips—

Ask yourself, a child or a teen what they would like. Then go shopping.

Remember...the advertising media reaches kids and adults all over the Greater Cleveland area!

Some general ideas for gifts: nice toiletry packages, candy, mittens, scarves, hats, watches, jewelry, jewelry making kits, tools, sportswear and clothing in all sizes for both sexes, music and sports related gifts, radio/earphones, books for adults and teens (fun stuff), music boxes, diaries, journals, electronic games, calculators, etc., fun holiday items, slippers, pj’s, family gifts such as jars/tins of candy and cookies. And remember that children and youth can wear adult sizes too!

Toys: Begin with what’s been advertised over the last year and always remember the timeless board games, balls, toy instruments, sports stuff, but please, not too many stuffed toys. We usually get lots of these.

This year we will return to our tradition of blessing these precious gifts at the closing of our Annual Children’s Musical that will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 10.

Would you like the added blessing of stepping out of your daily routine? Much help is needed in the huge task of setting up for this Sale on Wednesday, December 13 at St. Paul’s.

If this is something you can do, call Sandy VerDuin, 440-247-1534, and let her know.

As you pray, we at St. Paul’s will continue our prayers for you.
